ORTHODONITICS

Microcopy has designed a broad range of Orthodontic burs that enable you to remove excess resin and composite quickly and efficiently, without the risk of damaging tooth enamel.  Using Microcopy’s burs, you can significaltly reduce treatment time, improve patient comfort and acheive superior clincal results.

BRACKETS

The NeoBurr 12-blade carbides are the most popular burs for clearing away resin after the brackets have been applied or removed. The burs are available in a variety of shapes that facilitate removal of excess material around the brackets and tubes, removal of layers of resin spread across large tooth surfaces and clearance of concentrated lumps of resin.

ALLIGNERS

For effective removal of composite, it is recommended to use a combination of diamond and carbide burs. A diamond bur should be used to clear away most of the composite, and when nearing the tooth enamel, a carbide bur should be used to remove the remaining material. This combination allows for maximum cutting efficiency while safeguarding the enamel.

Microcopy offers a variety of coarse and extra coarse diamond cylinder shaped burs. With Microcopy’s NeoDiamond pre-sterilized Single-Patient-Use burs, you are guaranteed a fresh and clean cut and quick removal of composite.

iNTERPROXIMAL REDUCTION (IPR)

When IPR is required to facilitate better orthodontic tooth alignment, it is recommended to use a NeoDiamond Interdental bur.

POLISHING

After the removal of resin or composite, it is advised to use a NeoBurr 30-blade bur, which has an extra fine grit, to gently polish the tooth. As a final step in the procedure, NeoShine polishers should be used to smoothen the outer surface of the tooth and restore luster.

GOLD PLATED BURS & NEODRYS

Microcopy’s gold-plated burs provide optimal light reflection when treating posterior teeth, and for added clarity, it is recommended to use the NeoDrys saliva absorbents with a reflective backing.
